It’s no question that being a female entrepreneur can feel like riding a rollercoaster with a blindfold on, As a woman with big dreams, I oscillate between one moment feeling like I can take over the world to the next feeling like I’ll never have enough time, money, or motivation to make it all happen. That’s why I believe having a daily sacred practice is essential to sustainable, “feel-good” success. It’s what keeps us grounded when everything around us feels like it’s falling apart.
While I don’t believe in is a one-size-fits-all prescription of what a daily practice should look like, I have found a few (ahem..several?) practices that inspire most people to take the inspired action they need to take.
What I love most is they are totally personalizable and don’t take a lot of time to do. Sorry if I just took the excuse “I don’t have time” right out of your mouth. ;)
Without further ado, here are 11 daily practices that will raise your vibration and help you be more productive:
#1 Meditate for at least 10 minutes/day
You may already be rolling your eyes at this one, especially if you’ve tried meditating in the past and couldn’t. stop. thinking. I suck at that, too. In fact, most of us do.
The good news is you don’t have to stop thinking in order to benefit from meditating. Contrary to popular belief, the point of meditation isn’t to empty your mind of thoughts. The point of meditation is to become an unbiased observer and learning to distinguish who you really are from who you think you are.
When you stop finding identity in your negative thoughts, you re-connect to your intuition and inspiration to do the work you do. In other words, you become unstoppable.
Tip: My friend Michelle taught me an amazing technique that has really shifted the way I meditate. I’m a thinker, so tell me not to think and my brain goes crazy. However, give it a job and it’s a happy camper. The “job” is to sort your thoughts into one of four buckets: Past, Present, Future, or Fantasy. That’s it. When you have a thought, decide which bucket it goes into. Do that for 10 minutes and see how it goes. You’ll probably find that your thoughts eventually slow down and you can find that space between much easier than you have in the past.
#2 Set 3 intentions/day
I used to be an avid to-do lister until I realized it was k-i-l-l-i-n-g my productivity. The problem with a long to-do list? I don’t know about you, but I don’t like starting my day feeling like I’m already falling behind. By setting just 3 intentions/day, I get a lot more done in a lot less time. If you’re thinking you have way more than 3 things you must get done each day, I understand your hesitation. I felt the same way at first. But what I’ve found with this approach is that I actually end up with extra time to do the less important yet still urgent stuff.
Give it a try for a week and let me know how it goes!

#3 Listen to a high vibe playlist
The right song can shift any mood. When I first started my business, I’d sing and dance to Spice Girls’ “Spice Up Your Life” before all of my discovery calls. It sounds silly, but it really helped me to calm my nerves and go into a call with the right frame of mind.
Create a playlist of your favorite songs on Spotify, and have a more inspiring and productive day!
#4 Have some fun
Don’t be afraid to be playful in the way you approach your your work day. You can enjoy yourself and still get lots done! Maybe your version of fun is wearing a tiara for the day just because you can or taking 5 minute dance breaks throughout the day. Either way, give yourself permission to leave serious work mode when you need a boost of inspiration.
The work will be there when you get back, and you’ll be much more focused after giving your brain a mini break.
#5 Focus on one thing at a time
Multitasking is really just code-word for unproductive. Rather than doing one thing really well, you just end up doing a lot of things badly. That’s definitely been my experience, and I’ve had to delete the Facebook app off of my phone so I’m no longer tempted to reach for my phone and scroll mindlessly.
I’ve even started using timers to keep me focused on the task at hand. I don’t know what it is about a timer, but it keeps me honest and I’m better able to focus on just one thing at a time. I often use the Pomodoro technique where you work in increments of 20 minutes with a 5 minute break in-between when I have a lot to get done in a little time.
Tip: I use a free app called Tide to do this.
#6 Heal yourself daily
Even if you don’t consider yourself to be a healer, you do have the capacity to heal yourself. We all do. Self-healing starts with setting the intention to heal and then trusting that whatever type of healing you’re drawn to in the moment is exactly what you need right now. Healing can be as simple as moving your body to your favorite guilty-pleasure song or saying “I love you” to yourself in the mirror.
One of my favorite non-negotiable self-love rituals involves placing a drop of Joy essential oil on my heart and telling myself everything I need to hear that day. I’ll often say things like, “I’m proud of you. You’re beautiful. You can do this.” It keeps me going on days where everything feels like it’s going downhill.

#7 Prioritize self-care
Do at least one thing for yourself each day and you’ll always be giving from an overflowing cup rather than an empty one. As an ambitious woman you have so much to give, and it doesn’t mean you have to put yourself last to do so. A lot of people hear self-care and immediately think of pedicures and spas, but it’s truly whatever re-invigorates your mind, body and spirit.
Choose one thing you can do each day and schedule it into your calendar just as you would a client appointment. You are worthy of this time!
#8 Take daily inspired action
Inspired action is moving forward with what feels truly in alignment with your mission and purpose. When you’re taking inspired vs. forced action, you’re co-creating with the Universe rather than trying to do it all on your own.
Nowadays I get pretty clear intuitive nudges on what I need to be doing each day to be successful, but in the beginning I had a hard time distinguishing what my mind was telling me from what Spirit was telling me.
If that’s you now you can start by asking the question, “what would you have me do today?” and then pay close attention to any ideas or images that pop into your mind. You can also pull an oracle card if you have a deck you love and feel connected to.
Once you receive the action, do it. Even if it feels silly or out of left field. It’s not your responsibility to understand everything you receive before you act on it. Let the Universe work its magic and you’ll feel a lot more productive, I promise!
#9 Listen to your intuition
When you’re feeling down, turn inward and ask for guidance from your higher self. I like to call her my Inner Wise Woman. Ask an open question like, “what do I need to know about (insert situation)? Or “what is the energy around (insert situation)?”
Create space for the answer to come in, trusting that what you receive will be for your highest good. Remember that every person experiences intuitive messages differently. For some it will come through as a feeling in your body, a clear picture in your mind’s eye, or even a knowing of what to do next.
#10 Ask for help
I’ll admit this is one I really struggle with, and I know many of my closest biz friends do too. As successful women, we often feel like we’ll be viewed as weak or not good enough if we can’t do it all by ourselves. The truth is no great leader does it all on her own. You may not have a team as big as Oprah’s, but even she had to start somewhere.
When you ask for help, you free up energy to focus on what you really shine at. You operate at your highest level and you’re of greater service with your gifts than ever before. Consider starting a mastermind of 3 or 4 women and meeting at least once a month. Connecting with like minded women will change your life and business. It’s certainly transformed mine!
#11 Learn or try something new
There will never come a time when you’ve learned or discovered “too much.” Every person and every situation holds a lesson waiting to unfold. Make it your mission to learn something new every single day. You’ll vibrate on a higher level, attract wonderful people and opportunities, and do more with less effort.
Time spent learning is never ever wasted. Grow, grow, grow and grow some more. Be playfully curious rather than judging or labelling what you don’t understand. Do the thing you thought you could not do. Do what doesn’t come easy right away. Experience the edge of your comfort zone and expand it through your experiences.
If you pick even just one thing from this list and do it consistently for 30 days, you’ll experience a positive shift in your energy. You’ll find that you do have the ability to follow through… which let’s be honest is sometimes half the battle. You’ll discover that you have real power to transform any negative experience into a positive one simply by holding space for yourself and doing something to shift that energy.
Pretty cool, huh?
